My Dearest Juliett,

My how far you have come in the past nine and a half years!! I was so happy the day you were born. God gave me a beautiful daughter to look over and protect. You were diagnosed with cancer when you were only three and I was so sad, although you could never tell. I tried to make things fun for you even though you were fighting for your life and didn't know it. Who could forget the endless days and nights in the hospital, the tests, needles, scans and surgeries. We were always told from the start that your cancer could come back and "usually does" within the first year. The first year cancer-free was incredible but we knew we had to wait until the fifth year before we could really breathe easier.

Well, my cutie pie, today we were told that you have made your sixth year in remission. As much as I tell you how happy and proud I am, you probably will never know how much. Through it all, you have kept your positive attitude, amazing spirit, wonderful personality and the greatest will to live that I have ever seen. I have learned so much from you than you would believe. You have taught me how to never give up and how to appreciate every single day that we have together. We have made this journey as a family and I love you more than I could ever describe.

As we celebrate your sixth year in remission, I look back with pride and forward to the years to come. You are growing into a beautiful young lady and I could not be more proud of you. You have beaten cancer and I admire you every day. I love you!

GREETINGS FROM A NEUROBLASTOMA FAMILY IN LOUISIANA! You don't know us, but Landon Pitre is a NB Stage IV patient, once at Tulane in New Orleans, but now at St. Jude's in Memphis. We all knew angel Madison Musyl and were just a few months apart in their treatment. One of our friends met you at St. Jude's when you were visiting and she gave me Juliett's website. I tell you, it's really encouraging to see REMISSION on a NB patient's website, for that we'll always pray. Please keep in touch with us on Landon's website and we hope to meet you one day. Best of luck to you and may Juliett always be God's miracle.

Hey Juliett&Jackie,

I know how rough it must be living in Tupelo. I've been there before and it is not anything like New Orleans. I bet you miss the food too. That is one thing I miss most. Living in Birmingham,AL has been better to raise the kids, but I miss the food, family, and friends. Even though I have been away from New Orleans for 5 years, I am aching. I know I can't bring Brock into that environment for a long time. I miss my family so much. I usually made a trip down there at least every month or two. Now it may be a year before I feel comfortable bringing him there. My brother lives in Lafitte. My little nephew is really sick right now with a GI infection. They said it is probably from the environment. We meet with the adjuster on Monday in Bay ST.Louis at my grandfathers house. We are not expecting much. He did not have flood insurance. A 30ft. tidal wave went over his house. He is 80 yrs. old and really doesn't care at this point. But, we are really sad. He worked all of his life for all of his stuff. Now everything is gone. You can't rebuild your life with a Social Security check. Anyway, I'm glad ya'll are safe. It was great hearing from you Jackie. Keep your spirits up. I hope Jourdan adjusts soon.

Hi Juliett
My niece has a Caringbridge site and I found yours through Sean Hanson's site(they met at RMDH in NY). Her name is Amelia. I was reading through your journal entries and I discovered that you have the same birthday as Amelia!!! Amelia is 2 years old, and is also is fighting neuroblastoma. I think that it is really amazing to know that there is not just one May 9th little girl fighting...but two. Amelia is having a good summer and doing a lot of swimming. I live far away, so I am glad she has a Caringbridge site so I can see what she is up to. I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer. You are a beautiful little girl. Keep a rainbow in your heart.

THANK YA'LL SO MUCH FOR ALWAYS SIGNING THIS GUESTBOOK. I hope to print each and every one of these for Juliett's scrapbook.

I wish I were able to write often, but at least I can tell Jeff everything that goes on with Juliett so that he can type it here for ya'll to read. There's just so much more that I want to say about her.

Juliett & Jourdan went to a birthday party for a very close friend (Dakota-4 yrs old). They had such a great time! Juliett got to feed & ride a horse named Cody (cautiously...since the llama incident), tag along in a paddleboat driven by Bubby & Michael, chase a mama & her baby goat named Magic & Music, saw ducks, birds, rabbits, peacocks, fish and more in a beautiful natural setting and all in her friend's backyard. It's an adventure party we look forward to every single year.

I hope everyone has a great vacation! We will...even though it's gonna be a hot one! I'm so happy to have my family together at home, not at the hospital.

HELLO MY ANGEL! This is your Daddy. I am so very proud of you. You are doing so good. You and your brother are the light in my life. You have come so far in the past year.....you are such a fighter.

I know I tell you 50 times a day that I love you but I could never say it enough! I love you with all of my heart! You are cute, sweet, fiesty, beautiful, funny, adventurous, sassy, and much more.......I wouldn't have you any other way. You are a very special little girl and I would do anything for you.

I am so very proud to be your Daddy. You have taught me what it is like to NEVER give up, always keep fighting and to laugh when you don't feel like laughing. I cannot imagine how hard you have had it during the past year......I wish that I could have taken every X-ray, every medicine, every shot, every chemo, EVERYTHING that you have endured FOR you but I couldn't. You have handled it better than even your Dad could ever have.

One day when you are grown and ready to be married, I will tell the story of how much of a fighter I have in my daughter. How you fought a horrible diease and how with the help of everyone's prayers, you WON! I cannot wait for that day but until then, you are my little girl.

I sincerely appreciate everyone who thinks of you, prays for you and signs this guestbook. You have so many people pulling for you, Juliett. We LOVE YOU!

LOVE ALWAYS,

I am so glad that your surgery went so well and that the news has been good. You are an amazing little girl with amazing courage. You are the light of your father's life and getting you completely healthy is all he wants.

Jeff, you should be commended for all of the hard work and dedication that you put into making Juliett's surgery in New York possible. It is so apparent how much you truly love your little girl. Both of you stay strong and believe that God will take care of you.

Hi,
I'm from the NB list serve that the Hammer's are on. My son, Anthony passed away on April 6, 2003. He was 6. I am still a big part of the list serve and love communicating and helping those that I can. You have a very beautiful daughter and I will be praying for her often. It is a long road to travel, but know that you are not alone.

Hi Juliett,
My little boy is just a little younger then you-bday 10/18/00. He was diagnosed in oct/02 so he is a pro at all this hospital stuff-plus he knows of a lot of fun things to do when you are neutropenic! The holidays are approaching fast so I hope you can avoid the hospital as much as possible. My little guy was in for Halloween, and now Thanksgiving and then we will be in for 2 weeks for Christmas but its not too bad. We make the most of it.

You are a cutie! I hope your treatment goes smoothly and before you know it you will be done! I know we can't wait to let Matt go into the water! That will be a very happy day.

Juliett, you and your familiy will be in our prayers!!
We hope you have a good thanksgiving! Love, Debbie

Hi Juliet, you look alot like my little princess, Shelby. She's almost 5 years old and was diagnosed with neuroblastoma just before her 3rd birthday. She is doing very well and so will you! Shelby has a caring bridge page also www.caringbridge.org/ga/shelbyprescott. Also, I lived in Louisiana for 10 years! I like dim crawfeesh! Remember that God is watching over you and will take care of you. We just saw a miracle with one of our NB kids last week so we know He's there! You can e-mail me and I'll tell you all about it! Dear Juliett, Hello sweetie! You are a beautiful girl and I am very happy to meet you! My daughter is 7 years old and also has neuroblastoma! Your daddy and her daddy would get along great! They both treat their little girls like princesses. Aren't you lucky to have so much love around you? Cancer sure does stink, but you are a tough cookie and I am sure you'll do fine! If you want to meet Michaela and her brothers you can visit her webpage too. The address is http://www.caringbridge.org/pa/michaelaann

Hi,
Daniel Hammer's mom passed your beautiful daughter's website onto me. Juliet is gorgeous and I wish you all the best of luck in this battle. My daughter, Payton, was also DX with NB IV. She was 12 months old and we were also at MSK for treatment. Today, she is a happy and healthy 3 and a half year old. I know this is a long road but one that gets easier with time. Wishing you all the best of luck in your journey. We will be in NY at the Ronald on Dec 9-14. I will look for your beautiful daughter while there. Hope we get a chance to chat!

Everyone is so proud of you! You have come so far since June. You are such a big girl and everyone loves and cares for you so much. Everyone has prayed for you to get better and God has answered our prayers and kept his angel on earth. I love you with all of my heart. I wish I could switch places with you and take all of your pain away but I can't. I can only treat you like my princess and make sure that you are cared for by the very best. That is my promise to you. You will never be alone in this world. You will always have family and friends who would do anything for you. You have touched a lot of people in three short years and I am so proud to be your Daddy. I love you....
