Beth, I was feeling a little nostalgic this morning and wanted to check up on friends from so long ago... I lost all my favorits on my computer so I started doing some searching on Dustin's CB page. Glad to know that Kyle is over the cancer journey as is Dustin but sorry to hear the other health issues remain. Dustin is going to be a sophomore this year he is taller than his dad and loves soccer. All in all live is good at our house.

Hi Beth,
I still read this page, and even though I pretty much know what's going on with Kyle anyway, your writing is still great to read. I think you should write a memoir or something about faith throughout Kyle's leukemia- you're one of the strongest people I know (besides Kyle, of course).

Beth: You are truly a gifted writer. We continue to check in regularly on Kyle and his family. The piece you wrote regarding the conference is very informative and interesting, even for a parent not daily affected by DS or ASD. More than that, it touches the heart and soul of what every parent feels and wants for their child....the best life possible. I know your former teacher will be proud when he reads the article, and I continue to feel like we've been friends for a very long time as well. Our best to all of you and we'll keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. I'm VERY late with my holiday letter this year, but don't give up.....I still plan on sending it, hopefully soon.

Hello to Kyle's family.
I am the secretary where Grandma Sandy goes to church and I read your updates often. I am so blessed by your faith and how God is using Kyle's challenges to draw you close to Him. Our God is an awesome God and He makes no mistakes with whom he puts challenged children. Kyle is a lucky little boy to have such a loving family, which includes his brothers!
I, too, have an Autistic son....who is now a man who has grown to be a very BIG man - 6'7"!!! He has a lot of behavior issues and also has a seizure disorder which, thankfully, has been under control for over a year now. My son is seen at the Christian Autism Clinic at Riley Hospital. They have been a wonderful help and I can't give them enough praise. I don't know who your Ped Psychiatrist is, but if you're not satisfied, give the Autism Clinic a try. May God continue to draw you close to Him. God bless you all!

Hi Beth and family - I saw your post on Kaden's site and thought I would contact you. I had spoken to Brad at a middle school orientation, I think it was, some months ago. I am now an aide at St. Susanna and had Kaden and Kelsie in kindergarten. I got to know the Cassidy's from there on out. The visitation was rough, and the funeral was so sad, I cannot even explain. But Phil Morgan, Kaden's karate instructor, spoke, and it really struck me when he described Kaden as a warrior - that, I think, in one word, sums up Kaden - a warrior: strong, courageous, dignified, and destined to be remembered for how he touched others.

It heartens me that your Kyle is doing well. Your posts are very informative - we have to get that 20% well!

Your faith is strong, too - that is a good thing. I will keep your family in my prayers.

Hey buddy, Kelly is sooo ready to slide over and make room for Kyle on this OT couch! Talk about gaining weight OT. Kelly has had her feet grow three sizes, she is 3 inches taller and she has gained, you guessed it, three lbs in the past month! She is also so full of energy! I thought she was a spitfire before-but now I realize how sedated the chemo had her. Her favorite game is run away from Mommy in the store and laugh at her! We are so glad to hear your good news and can't wait to celebrate with you at the ball! And yes, there will definately be wine!

Go Colts! I found your CB site while visiting another one. Our daughter, Carly, also has one. We live in Peru, IN and I assume you are a Riley family? We are too, though Carly's brain tumor surgery this past March was in Boston. Our oldest daughter, Elise, is a jr. at Butler. We are adding you to our list of CB families who we pray for daily. I will be back to check on you, soon. Is Jane your NP? We love her!

Beth & Brad,

I've spent some time reading some of your journal postings since you pointed us to the site at Christmas. It's hard to sum up in words the feelings I have for you guys. Kyle sure has been through a lot, but thankfully seems to be a tough little guy with a strong will who is loved dearly by so many. Your strength and faith are unbelievable.

I am supportive of CaringBridge for making such sharing possible. I am not new to CB as, unfortunately, I have a couple of dear friends who are battling cancer and they also have sites. I must admit that yours is the best I've seen in terms of photos, graphics, songs, etc. It's too bad that you've gotten so good at it over the past few years, but it is great that you've been so kind to keep others in the loop. I am sure it's a bit therapeutic for you at times, but work at other times.

Know that we keep you in our prayers and are always hoping for the best for Kyle.

God's peace and love, Jackie

Beth -- Even though it's been a long time since we've talked, I feel like I have a regular connection to you, Kyle and the family via my weekly caringbridge visits...and as a result, I think of all of you often. Congratulations on the opportunity with VSA Arts of Indiana. I have some awareness of their great programs through a years-ago linkage to Jim. Hi Beth,
I'm so glad to read that Kyle has regained that lost weight and that he is feeling well. For what it's worth, I am totally with you on minimizing the appointments, not putting Kyle through more than he needs to go through and not looking to turn up more stuff to worry about when most of the time, those worries were not necessary to begin with. You're sure right when you say we have enough *real* concerns that we don't need any hypothetical ones!

Lots of prayers for Kyle, that he stays strong...and is able to eat some, as God continues the healing process.

Have a wonderful Easter....it is the one thing that makes cancer bearable...as Christ's crucifiction and resurrection means that death has lost it's sting...what was meant to hurt us is only temporary...no matter what, we will live with Jesus in Heaven forever.

Hi Guys!

So, Mom has been busy wearing different hats again! Whatever would the medical profession do without Mom's like us?? :)

I'm glad Kyle's hearing test went well. I hope after the docs scratch their heads awhile that all is good!

Matthew's hair is rapidly thinning too. My personal opinion is that after a while the marrow gets tired of being bombarded and it rests. I think the hair cells don't get the attention they need and they start to lose their hair again. Just my silly mind thinking! Matthew's started to slow down recently, so I hope Kyle's does too.

I hope the Easter Bunny hops by your house Kyle and leaves you a wonderful surprise!

We will be down in Indy Mon, May 8th for eye ckup and hearing test (not sedated) they felt she may have shown signs of losing hearing at higher tones, but I dont think she was cooperating last time. Beth: thanks so much for signing our guestbook and thinking of Clare and us. Yesterday (the day you signed) was in fact the 6 month anniversary of her death, and a very difficult day in a series of difficult days. I do so appreciate my online friends checking in even after all this time and my silence on the ALL-Kids list.

I do follow Kyle's story in your posts and online, and wish you all the best.

He Beth and Kyle, I just had to write after reading your post on ALL list. Dustin for only the second time doesn't have to go back to the clinic for a whole month!!! Way to go Kyle and Dustin. Now we'll just keep praying that this trend holds up the rest of the year. I am so excited for each step Kyle takes. It is awsome that something so simple as eating cake can really get us excited. I guess that is what leukemia has taught me... to appreciate everything simple and ordinary. Love Cecelia

Ha! I can see it now-at the rehearsal dinner for Kyle and Kelly's wedding.-You pay for the rehearsal dinner, so it will be a very lavish event as apposed to the quiet, small wedding which we will pay for. I can hear the toasts now-why, Robbin and I used to talk about how you two were pooping all the time-who knew they'd eventually get to share a bathroom some day...Love ya!
