thanks for your note on our caring bridge. I remember seeing you at the christmas get-together for camp sunshine 2 years ago. I liked that conversation at the beginning of maddie's page about the "good " kindof childhood cancer.
It's all hell and a living nightmare if you ask me. But people do think and actually say those things.

How is Mr. Stubs, the cat? I miss him so much. Do you still have him? I would like to come hold him for a minute, if that's ok with you. Please call me, when you get a chance or email me.

Reg, it is super-great to hear from you, and to hear the great news about Madie. Thank God things are going well. She is a wonderful child with a super-wonderful mom. I hate we have lost so much time in communication with one another. We must talk and catch up. There is so much to talk about. I am very proud of the accomplishments you and Madie have made. I hate I missed Madie's baptism. May the Lord continue to bless you both. Love you, Mary.

Dear Regina,
You and your beautiful Madie will be in my thoughts and prayers. Reading your last journal entry brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy to hear that Madie is doing well and I hope that camp is all she dreams it will be. I want to say thank you, too, for the kind words of support you've offered me (Dawn Adams, just diagnosed with breast cancer). God bless you all.

I just wanted to sign and let you know I am thinking of you. Madie is lucky to have such a kind and caring mother. I cant imagine the journey you have had to go through with her. It is one that no child or mother should every have to face. But you have done a wonderful job of helping her come through it. I am proud of you both.(hugs)

I just read your entry about stranger angels. What a wonderful way to look at the world.

I am one of your angels. I work for a company that makes parts for many of the vehicles on the road today. We used to primarily make parts for Dodge trucks, minivans, SUV's and all of the Jeeps.

Thank you for putting your life out here for all of us to read.

I will be praying for you and Madie.

Hi Reg,

Just visiting Madie's site, and found your link to your site. Excellent udpate! Greg & I have just started "stumbling" across and reading some very scary things about late effects ourselves... jeesh, and I thought this was all going to be over next spring, how about you?! :) I wish... But you know what? Our girls are strong, their mommies and daddy are strong too, and we will beat this crappy thing until it's a bloody pulp!!

I am so excited for Madie starting the big K in the fall. That is so awesome. Try not to cry too much her first day, you know? ;-)

I think of you wild girls often on our trip down this road, and hope this week is going OK for you. The Abster had her final decadrons of the month on Sunday morning, and yours is just starting, I know, so hang in there!

Hi Regina - Great to see an update on this end too. :) Thanks for sharing all of that with us - helps those of us following your journey to know what you are dealing with - and helps me know how to be best in prayer for you and Madie. :) You two have become very precious to me - you're like a part of my family! :) I will be walking this weekend in our local Relay for Life...in honor of Madie (and a few others too!). There will be a luminary all the way over here in Oregon for her...I'll try to find it and take a picture to send you! :) God bless and *warm hugs* ><>†<><

Hello there!

Great entry on the circumstances, people, and feelings concerning that big flu bug last winter. You so poignantly described those sometimes indescribable feelings all of us cancer parents feel. I enjoyed reading the piece, not because it was "happy writing" but because it was filled with heart and a mother's love. Thanks for sharing.

Hello dear one...
What WONDERFUL Family and friends you have! I'm convinced that God is "on your side"! I'd like to share with you that I'm a Papa to 12 grandchildren. I'm 65 years old (some say young =). I was a "miracle child" at age 4. I had meningitis---a kind the doctors couldn't figure out! They declared that "this child will live if he's 'that one in a million'! Many prayed and prayed! My father testified that I made an instantaneous change...from "delirious groaning" to "silence and face to the wall"...he thought God had taken me "home"...however, after a minute(?), he said I rolled over, got up on my knees (holding the rail of the crib)---looked Papa straight in the eyes (before, had no control of eyes)---and said, "Daddy, I can go home now, I'm better!"
So, we want to encourage you, your family and friends with yet another living witness, that He (God) Is Able to do ANYTHING!! And I know everyone surely knows it! But thanks! for allowing me to share the miracle that I was blessed with! Prayerfully, Jerry (and Joyce) Boyer

Girl, you do not update this site enough! I would love to hear more from you. You have a way with words. I was glad to hear that Madie was able to go to "morning church" this week. You could tell she was excited. Do you know what you have going on this Sat? Tori and I are coming to Loganville for Pam Cassara's little boy's b-day party(Dr. Freeman's NP) and thought that Tori and I could stop by your house too. Is Madie able to be around Tori? I totally understand if something else is going on or if it is not good timing. Tori doesn't remember her and wants to see who "that girl whose picture comes on the computer" is. Let me know.

Wow! You should write a book! You are soooo good! I felt like I was right there with you! Yes, I am another one of those "strangers"! Your daughter is simply beautiful. My son has a little friend also going through this same torture and through the many other webs I came across a little name "Madie" and since that is my nieces name I had to see her and read all about her. You are all an inspiration and truly make us that are fortunate enough to not encounter this feel so grateful! When I think about all that you are made to endure I know I MUST be thankful right now! I usually change my screen saver at work to a different picture each week just as a simple reminder of what truly good health means but more importantly to spend a little extra time with God asking him to watch over these children specifically the one on my screen so next week...I will be putting "Miss Madie" on mine and you will know she will be getting put on the TOP of my prayers! In the meantime...you all take care and may God's loving arms embrace throughout each day and night. Angels are among us!
In His Love,
Wendy

Hi there, you dont know me but i'm a friend of Teresa (Mommy to Marcus). I was on Marcus's caringbridge site and i found your entry in her guest book so i surfed over to her site. I'm so sorry to hear about the pain and suffering that little Madie has to endure. Our thoughts and prayers go out to you all.Madie is surly a brave little girl as was Marcus. My new husband went through the chemo and the transplant only to succumb to it all three years post transplant. I know what you all are going through. My heart aches for all of you when i read your journals. Just know that there are a lot of people out there praying for you. You will get through this.Madie is such a little treasure. My husband and i are friends of Teresa, and we have done a memorial for Marcus that we would like to share with you. if this link doesnt work from here you can copy and paste it into your browser. Beware though there are about 15 pages in there, so you will have lots of surfing to do.You will enter through a blue background page at the bottom you will find the actual entrance to his main site. The site map comes up on the left of the main page and continues throughout the rest of the pages. Please take good care of madie and yourself. We will say a prayer for you and may God bless you all. Marcus's other webpage can be found at.

Reg~ I can't imagine the things you and Madie have had to endure. It makes me so grateful to have a healthy, happy 3 year old. When I read about all the side effects it scares me b/c you are right, no child is safe and I know at any one moment my child could get sick too. I love ya'll and constantly think of you.

Hello, HAPPY TUESDAY!
I also love the verse about "entertaining angels unaware..." Isn't is just awesome? I found Madie's page through Katia's site. I also check on Julia, who I saw on her site. It was a year ago Jan 20th that I first heard about Caringbridge and it was thanks to Sarah Smith. She was my "first" cancer friend. What a blessing she has been as well as the other precious children on the site. How fortunate I am to be a part of it. God bless you!

Pretty profound way of thinking about "strangers". To most people, "stranger" is a scary word, the things we teach our children about strangers, all of it. I will now never think of a stranger the same way again. Thanks for that...I think we all need more of that kind of thinking in our lives. Have a great Easter.

You paint quite a picture in your description of what you are feeling. I have a picture to tell you about - it's one with a bunch of healthy, pink cheeked kids running about on green grass, laughing and smiling, cancer FREE and meeting their caringbridge brothers and sisters for the first time. I hold that image close to my heart, and one day I hope it's a reality for all of them.

I like how you protray destroying the monster; althougth, it is sad that you even have to worry about that. The innocence of a child is taken away to often in this day and age. In a way the innocence of a parent is also taken away to quickly when a parent's worst fear becomes true; their child is sick, not with just a cold, but with something very serious. I am praying for you, Maddie, and your family.
