I know from experience that where you were three years ago in treatment and where you are now seems like both forever ago and just like yesterday - all at the same time. I'm so glad that those three years have gone by with Mary Grace as healthy as can be. What a blessing! I'm also so proud of you and Todd for committing to do the 1/2 marathon. I can't imagine pulling that one off myself! Kuddos to you both! Good luck!

Thank you for visiting Ava's caringbridge site. Looking at your daughter gives me hope that Ava will make it through these tough times. Your daughter is beautiful! She looks so happy and healthy. We won't make it to camp this month because Ava is in a heavy chemo stage right now and she is at risk for fevers and low lab values--not a good time to be far from the hospital! We were told they have camp again in the spring. We hope to make it then. Thank you for all your get well wishes! Take care! Janine Wenclawiak

Wow, way to go Mary Grace! Sounds like you have the same conduct plan as Kilby. I will have to tell her teacher about blue, because they don't do that, just green, yellow and red. I have just been so very grateful for green everyday. I know you two would have fun together! Do you like baby dolls? Kilby loves to play with her babies.

DD,
I can remember like it was yesterday where I was when we heard about MG. It was Sunday night at church in the old sanctuary, Phillip was in the choir. When Pastor announced that we needed to pray for Todd & DD Dixon and their daughter, MG - Phillip and I made eye contact across the sanctuary - utterly shocked. I talked about it wih Mike Wooten afterwards. I shared your story with all my family and updating them along the way. They've been praying too. Little did I know the tables would be turned and that I'd be needing your prayers 3 short years later. It is so awesome to see how God continues to work in all your lives -I've learned His mercies are new every moring.

It's so exciting to know Mary Grace is starting Kindergarten - and with her awesome Big Brother to show her the way. I can imagine, just a little bit, how good this must feel for you and Todd. We could not be more happy, relieved and grateful for you guys.

We love you guys and we're continuing to pray for Gracie's continued good health and that God will continue to bless and use your entire family for His purpose.

It's so good to come to your site and see happy pictures and hear good news. So thankful that we've crossed paths - it makes me smile to think of you. Along with so many of our other little friends, just wanted to tell you that Mary Grace is in our prayers every morning. Have a good weekend.

What a precious site to open up to! I love the picture of you and Mary Grace. Kilby has started telling me that she wants to be home schooled instead of going to kindergarten. I am afraid that I would require too much nap time(for me & her) to even attempt that. Even though I don't sign in often, know that you are covered in prayer and that I check on you daily.

What a BEAUTIFUL picture of you and Mary Grace! I hope you have that one framed in your house somewhere! I also hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! You are such a special person, D.D. and I am so blessed and thankful to have met you.

I really do check on you guys here but just don't have time to write very often. Anna's had so many issues lately and keeps me really busy. But Mary Grace is on our (very long) list of kids that we pray for every morning and we are so thankful that she is doing well right now.

It was great to see you guys at Lauren's Run! Hope we'll see you again before too long.

That is an awesome picture of you & Mary Grace - I love it! Thanks for asking for the extra prayers for Joey - we'll take them! I'm actually looking forward to summer too - but probably about 2 weeks into it, I'll be asking, "How many more days till school starts?" Ha! And, I'll join you in "chunky dunking!" But, I got this really cute suit at Kohl's (do y'all have them there?) that has a wonderful skirt attached to it and a tag that said "You can run, but we can hide them. (your hips)" That sold me! Well, I gotta run and take care of my 2 preshus little ones - we can't wait to see y'all (another relief for clear scans - we still get to come!)

Clear Scans - Hallejuliah!! DD, Phillip and I could not be more happy for you all. It is pure pleasure to see how Mary Grace is growing and thriving! Praise God for his marvelous works.

I know the folks that visit this site are praying people. Please be praying for my 53 year-old brother Tim. Unfortunately he now has a caring bridge site. (visit/timgelatt). He was diagnosed with a brain tumor 2 weeks ago. He had a biopsy on 4/25 and we're waiting now for the results. He's been a pastor and missionary his whole adult life and still has much to contribute to the kingdom. I'm praying God will allow him to do so. Thanks for praying - we love you guys, Judy

What a beautiful entry about my sweet niece Catie. Thank you for being such an incredible friend to Jenny. I remember the smile on Jenny's face when you rolled that cooler full of food and drinks into the waiting rm. back in Oct. D.D. - I find myself choking back tears having read your beautiful entry. You described everything I feel and experienced so perfectly and so beautifully. I have thought so much about that perfect peace only He could have delivered. It was a life changing experience to witness it.

I find myself truly unable to just resume life as usual. Nothing is as it was. You can't witness His presence and glory like that and resume life as usual.

You, Queen Diva, are the best. I love you dearly and am so glad we had such special time together. You will always hold a very special and tender place in my heart. DD, so beautifully and lovingly stated. The way you love your children and your family and your friends, always a tribute and sometimes with chuckles. But always so eloquently stated. You are a blessing to all, and prayiers always for you and your family. That little Mary Grace, could she be any more precious? Or your beautiful son. You are blessed and because of your family's walk and Jenny's walk and Joey's family, we don't take one single day of our children's health for granted. D.D. I left a message in Jenny's guestbook, but no words are adaquet. It breaks my heart to have to move yet another child from my list of "kids to pray for" down to "heaven helpers". My heart just breaks for them. So very sorry for their loss. No child should have to suffer or indure the things that Catie did. I take comfort in knowing that her battle has been won. DD, thanks so much for talking with me this morning on the phone. I'm sure you were exhausted, but it meant a lot to me and helped make me feel better, getting to share feelings with you like that. (And you know me, I'm not a sharer of feelings!) :)

I find myself getting more upset as the day gets later ... Kendrie cried when we told her, which is pretty much what I've done off and on all day. I know it's cliched, but this wasn't supposed to happen ....

There must be a lot of poor functioning moms in the cancer world today....I am beyond grieved. I can't believe Will's little medullo buddy is not here to be loved on by Jenny and Tre....and the rest of us. This is so painful.
Love and hugs from one hurting mom to another,
Nancy

D.D. I always remember how you thank us for praying for newly diagnosed families, (Taylor, Joey)and how someday we'll know the impact our prayers had on those families. . .I truly believe that we've learned from your example. My own aching mother's heart knows that the prayers for Catie's earthly healing were continuous, much like the tears. Now we must change the words to the prayers, but continue with the same fervor for Jenny & Tre and the new babe.

We love you guys- -

DD,

You have been such a dear friend to Jenny, Tre and Catie. My heart is so broken. I loved Catie with C so much. It hurts so much. The loss is so great. But I know that Catie now sees face to Face what we see dimly...but one day we shall all be together seeing face to Face.

Please know that you, too, are in my prayers as I know you are one so dear to Jenny and God is using you to give her strength at this time. Jenny always speaks with a smile in her voice when she says your name!

Oh DD, I woke this morning with the tears coming hard & fast. I have no doubt you feel the same. Thank you so much for all you've done - for Tre', Jenny, & Catie - but also for everyone else. You are a truly wonderful friend. How blessed I am to know you.
Love & Hugs, Julie

It's breaks my heart to get this news about Catie. Please let us know if we can help Jenny and Tre or you and Todd in any way.
P.S. I did discover that my key board is water-proof.
