Is Shiri on the countdown for her Birthday????? Autumn knows that Shiri's is this week and told me to tell Shiri Happy Birthday for her...of course also to tell Shiri that her birthday is on the 25th...It's about driving her nuts to hear that one more friend has a birthday before hers..she just can't wait.
I love the new photo.. It is so amazing where our kids are today. Look how much they have grown. I still remember one of the first pictures I saw of Shiri with her short red hair in a little white dress..look at her now.

Our grandaughter Caydence was just diagnosed on October 10th 2006 with stage 5 bilateral wilms tumors,she has 3 large 9cm tumors on each kidney.She has had 4 Chemo treatments so far.I know this will be a long journey,and We don't like to see our little ones go through this,but with God we will gat throuhg it and Caydence will be Healed.It hurts so bad to think about what see will go throuhg.Reading the stories of other families shows us that there is hope.MAY GOD KEEP BLESSING YOU AND YOU'RE FAMILY FOREVER.

Awesome to hear that Shiri is doing so well. She is an inspiration to so many.TY for sharing her story. The Stollery deserves much praise as well. Two of my children spent a great deal of time there, as did I. They are a top notch Crew, as is Sheila and Shiri. My sons progress was also monitored by a teaching facility and caring folk like the Stollery. Today he is happily married and I am a Grandma and Gr8 thru that marriage. It's awesome to see another story turn out so well. Congrats Marino, Sheila and Shiri.

It is great to hear of your success!!! My son Eric was diagnosed with Wilm's when he was 2 1/2. Right kidney with matastisies in liver and lungs, favourable histology. Six months of chemo...all clear by the 3rd month. We enjoyed 10 mos off treatment when he had a reoccurrance in lungs and liver. 10 mos of chemo 14 rounds of radiation and so far clear since May 19. Hair is growing back and we are getting ready for senior kindergarten. Of course we are scared to death for the next 2 years of tests. I can't wait to get to where you are now!!!

I'm praying for great news about Shiri's scans.
Hearing that chances of recurrence after 2 years is slim just made my day. I'd heard I couldn't relax (with a Stage IV or V) until 4 or 5 years post chemo.
Her plan sounds very similar to Lauren's; scans every 3 months for 5 years. I'm glad you have a great doctor. We were lucky to get a Wilm's guru also.
