On Tuesday, Thea came home! 224 days in the hospital, and she is finally home!
The last things she needed to get done at the hospital were able to be scheduled a lot sooner than originally thought! She had an MRI on her head and spine and got her feeding tube switched from a peg to a MIC-KEY button on Monday. The mri showed her head to be fine, but eventually she will need a small surgery on her lower spinal cord. This will hopefully be a quick in and out of the hospital that will be scheduled in a few months.
We have been so busy at home with her. She has gone on walks, been shopping, and already had some appointments. She also met her dog and cat brothers.
While Thea is out of the hospital now, her journey isn’t over. She still has the Fontan surgery that will be around when she is 3-5 years old. Also being in the hospital for as we were, we know complications can happen and send kids back unexpectedly. While I will not update the caring bridge as often anymore, I will definitely update if something happens.
Thank you so much for following along and for all the support we received. Thea knows she is very loved!❤️
