Journal
Mom has been asking me to write this post for a while now. It seems I just couldn't bring myself to do it, because although the small the part of Dad's life that this was, it just seems like I'm closing another chapter of him.
We cannot thank you enough, for the support, gratitude, empathy and condolences you have shown us. We have noticed and appreciated every meal, card, hug, kind word, visitor, and support in every form it has been shown. The support of our community has been overwhelming and we cannot tell you what that means to us. There were quite a few of my dad's childhood friends at his service, each and every one of them commented on how great of a community we must live in to be able to pull together a service like that. I do not think that it could have been said any better. The love that people had for my father was boldly shown on Saturday.
He was a very humble man. When he spoke of his own funeral he always joked that he would never be able to fill up a church. Well, jokes on you Dad. I know that you were looking down on Saturday and I know you saw everyone who was there for you.
My Dad wrote 4 letters before he passed. He gave them to a dear friend, and we didn't know they existed. I will share with you the one he wrote about his philosophy on life. These letters are great treasures. ❤️
Have fun up there Big Poppa
We love you so much.
