Welcome to Sarah’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportHello everyone,
I would like to start off by thanking you all for your continued support of my mom. She has remained positive and upbeat, thanks to all of the kind words you have sent her. Surgery over the weekend went very well and she was able to leave the hospital on Monday and return to the comforts of home.
After yesterday’s oncology appointment, the doctor discovered that mom has grade II astrocytoma, a type of brain cancer. Grade II astrocytoma, also called diffuse astrocytoma, is the most common type of brain tumor in adults. Her doctors are hopeful that most of the tumor was removed although the diffused edges make removal much more difficult. In 6 weeks, she will have another MRI and speak with the doctors again to see how things have progressed and from there on more decisions will be made.
At this time, rest and relaxation are the best things for my mom but she also needs company and support. If you are able to stop by and hang out with her for a bit during the coming weeks I know that she would love to see all of your faces, even if she has to take a nap during the visit. Please let Todd or myself know if you would like to stop by or schedule a day with her; Todd knows her schedule best at the moment and when she will need help and can be reached at: 952-249-1000.
Thank you again everyone!
-Rachel
