My beloved family and friends,

Though it has been two months since my last posting, our lives have not been without notable changes. Thank you for your willingness to keep Patty and me in your prayers and your continued love. I (Rick) completed my chemotherapy in May. My adverse effects were mostly tolerable and have all resolved except for persisting fatigue. Naps at noon are the new norm for me and allow me to stay awake until 9 PM - usually!! Our next steps begin in late June when Patty and I will fly to Germany. Over six months an oncology group has produced a vaccine specifically targeting genomic errors on my tumor as a target for my immune system. I will receive these injections nearly monthly, in Germany, with the hope that this will delay the recurrence of my brain cancer.

Our concurrent challenge was the decision to merge our lives with those of Peter's family. After a short search, Patty, Peter and Sarah Margaret have bought a house not far from where we had previously lived but large enough for all involved. The move out of our elder housing was sad for us as we left people with whom we had developed close friendships over 9 months. But we are now settled in for the most part and learning how to lovingly work through small differences that may arise. Our new address is 13 Mourning Dove Lane, Littleton, CO  80127.

While we are in Germany, Michael will drive from his home in Switzerland so might spend several days with his family. We have missed them greatly since they moved to Europe 2 years ago. We are living in gratitude to God for each day and believe these days are miraculous in themselves. There are days with sadness and deep concerns regarding my cancer and Patty's adjustments. But most days are lived with much love for one another and the beautiful world in which we love.

Your prayers are a priceless gift to us. God is good, always, and we will not lose hope irregardless of what these coming months will bring.
With love in Christ,
Rick and Patty
