A year ago today, we waited...we waited for Oliver to go back for surgery...we waited to know everything had went well...we waited to see him...we waited. We waited to move out of the CVICU...we waited for 2 hours to pass a car seat test...we waited to go home...we waited.
I cannot put into words how good it feels to not be waiting. To see him thriving. To see him smash cake & cover himself in it. To see him climbing stairs (& well everything else too), running down the hall. To hear him gabbing, giggling. To be one year removed.
Oliver saw his cardiologist at the end of December and was cleared to follow up yearly. It was a perfect Christmas gift. His thickened valve remained unchanged which was good news as intervention is only required if it worsens.
We are so grateful for all the love over the past year. Every message, act of kindness...it didn’t go unnoticed & left a mark on our hearts. Thank you.
With love,
the Russells (hoping to never need to use this platform to provide an update again ❤️)
