The surgery that Vance underwent was to install a Platinum stent to divert blood away from the blob shaped aneurysm area. To do this the doctors accessed his femoral artery through a closure device implant that was installed a couple of weeks ago during his cranial angiogram. Vance is recovering very well. He has been up and about the hospital room. His bandage from the femoral artery has been removed. He is no longer on IV fluids and is eating a normal diet. There has been no headaches, no problems, or anything like that. At this point we are waiting for Neurology to assess him and release him to go home. Hopefully, this will happen by noon today.
As part of his after surgery care Vance will be on blood thinners and aspirin for atleast 6 months. At this time they will bring him back for another cranial angiogram to assess the effectiveness of this stent. If it is necessary they will want to install a second stent. Thank you again for all of your prayers. God is so good.
