If there is anything you have taught us all to do Michael, it is to press hard against continuing to live life fully, as you are, while learning to examine its value and gift that it is, especially in the face of our own mortality. None of us knows how long we will live, with or without a terminal illness, and you continue to amaze us with your resilience and courage in the face of your own relationship to mortality. Thank you for the ever present gift that you are, and will continue to be.

"Seduced by the voice of shame".

Yep, I know that one. I love how you keep all that (or most of that) out in front foryourself and the rst of us to see.

Now, look I made two mistakes there. Diagnosis, please.

Jeff and I loved reading this post together. And we are sending you good vibes for you 7/29 MRI. We love your bald spots, too. ❤️

Your writing are so honest and true. The aphasia is frustrating (I know that too!) and you write your relationship re: some things you can and some you can’t do anymore. Way to go, living each day and celebrating what can happen now!

Thank you Michael for your articulate reminders of grace, of the opportunity to respond to shame with joyful laughter at my efforts to control and to discover what lessons in love are available to learn.

Personally, Michael, I have come to believe that reality is highly overrated! I am also somewhat bored and somewhat pissed off by what is considered to be normal human behavior. I have always found you to be an exceptionally fine specimen of a human being... just the ways you are and just the ways you are not! Rock on with your bad self and your bad blog. Much love and much light, leoj

Dear Michael,
You have more ability to write and lift people up, than those with a whole, healthy brain! You’ve given me strength by the courageous way you’ve battled this disease. Thank you for your posts and ongoing stamina to live and love. Continued prayers as you keep the up the good fight. I admire you for the unique way God made you!

Dear Michael..brave adventurer into the unknown....thank you, deeply, for continuing to share your journey, your fears and reflections...I also identify with the self-critical ego voice that says I am not good enough to walk "into the arena." I am reminded of the acronym that "ego" stands for "Easing God Out".....so I take a deep breath and invite God back in....may you continue to journey onward with honey in your heart and strength to your sword arm...
