Journal
Yesterday marked the 2nd anniversary of Maria’s brain injury (ruptured AVM), so it’s time for a journal update. It has been an interesting 2 years, to say the least! The road has been filled with many twists and turns, as well as plenty of bumps. More like a roller coaster than a road!! We were amazed at how quickly she was able to regain use of her right side, even to the point of riding a skateboard and playing the piano again! However, nearly a year after receiving Gamma Knife radiation therapy to treat the remaining AVM, Maria‘s right side began to grow weak again. Although she was doing physical and occupational therapy, her right side continued getting weaker, to the point of having no use of her right hand/arm and limited mobility due to right foot/leg numbness. This has caused a lot of frustration for Maria (and all of us!). Nevertheless, she continues to fight, and we remain hopeful for a full recovery!! Regardless, we are so very thankful that she survived on that fateful night two years ago!! Every day is a gift!!! ❤️❤️ Today she is having an MRI and meeting with her neurosurgeon. Please pray for good news! 🙏🏼🙏🏼
