Newest Update

Journal entry by Kim Hardwick

Happy summer, friends! It has been awile since I have updated. But, it is back to Emory this week starting today. I have full bloodwork, Brain MRI, Whole Body Petscan, and appointments with my endocrinologist and oncologist. I probably won't know any results until my last appointment on Friday, but I will provide updates as I get them. As you may remember, my doctors stopped treatment early because of my body's response to the immunotherapy (ie. liver damage, hypothyroidism, and adrenal insufficiency). But, scans showed that the treatment was effective and the cancer was no longer visible. It is now time for my 3 month scans to make sure the cancer is still not active. This immunotherapy is still so new, that we don't know how long the results will last. Hopefully, for me, it will have lasting results for years and years!! (:  I'd appreciate your prayers this week for peace for us (me, Steve, and the kids). We all tend to feel anxious when scans come around. Thank you so much for praying!
Love always,
Kim
