Memorial Day is a federal holiday to celebrate those who lost their lives while serving the nation. We often say, in military life, it's not just the service member but their families who serve as well. 

Joshua lived his entire life as a military dependent. He served and sacrificed alongside myself, his mother and his brother. He sacrificed the same, if not more, than I have.

And he very much looked forward to my retirement. He looked forward to s normal, stable life. 

He never got to see that day. 

So, as I did last year and will do every year to come, I honor him for his ten years of service. His ten years of sacrifice. His ten years of love and support.
