Journal

Yesterday, I had two appointments.  In the morning, I saw the plastic surgeon. Everything continues to heal well. Just one deeper wound spot yet but it looks to be getting closer to the surface so that's good. I still have to continue putting iodine on that spot to help it heal.

And then we were able to start adding fluids in the skin expander! I already have 150 cc's in it from surgery. They added 75 cc's to test the skin, see how it reacts and start slowly while the incision finishes healing. Dan said he could see it inflate a little lol. The good news is is that I couldn't feel the needle because it's still numb. I'll continue to go every week to check-up and to add more fluid until the skin has stretched enough.

And since it is the 6th week post-surgery, my restrictions have been lifted! I can drive now so Dan made me drive home after the appointment lol! No more compression bras, well, the one from surgery. I'll wear the ones I had bought from Amazon while it finishes healing. I still can't do anything with too much motion yet, like kayak or swim but I can finally reach up in the cupboard without worrying :)

Then I saw my physical therapist. She was just as excited as me about no more restrictions! So we started working on some stretches and did the little hand-bicycle thing. She is not worried about me having frozen shoulder from after surgery as she had taught me how to safely cheat on the restrictions. My range of motion is also really good, but I am sore this morning! I'll see her every week for awhile as well for the near future.

My Marshfield oncologist office also called yesterday. I'm supposed to be starting a hormone pill for the next 5-7 years. However, it does not interact with my current anxiety medication so I'll be receiving a call from my primary doctor about that.

I still have not heard back from Mile Bluff Clinic in Mauston. Hopefully, my case manager was able to work some magic with the appointment coordinator to squeeze me in sooner than later.
