This week Cameron went for his 21 month check up. Check ups these days are still every 3 months until we hit the 2 year mark in July, after which time they will be extended to every 6 months for the next 3 years.
I’m so happy and grateful to God to say that his scans were all CLEAN!!! Kidney function looks great! That “incentive” water bottle sure has been helping to ensure he hits his water consumption goal of 36oz every day which is oh so important given having portions of each kidney removed. 💧🤩
During his visit, Cameron showed off his reading skills to his physicians, reading one of his favorites “Freddie the Farting Snowman”- boy were they both impressed and in stitches with the story ⛄️💨😆. We have one last visit with Dr Abraham who is completing his residency and moving back to NYC to continue helping children at a local hospital. We can’t say enough about Dr. Abraham - Cameron, Jason and I absolutely love him and his care and compassion goes far beyond a check up visit (you can just see the love they share in pictures). We plan to continue keeping in touch after his next check up on June 21st. 💖
After a morning of tests and dr visits we made the most of the afternoon, grabbing lunch at Harry Caray’s, visiting the Chicago Sports Museum and the Lego store 🌆 ⚾️✨🏀✨🏉!
Cameron still has a lot of anxiety with having pokes (I can’t blame him as scan days still gives me a level of PTSD). It always makes me smile and laugh a bit inside when he brings out his negotiation skills during lab draws - that kiddo, he’s going to be something as an adult!!!
For being brave he got to choose a new Lego set, a Bonsai Tree and he put together that night.
Thank you for the continued prayers and support along this journey. We pray for all of those children who continue their fight against this terrible disease. 🙏🏻🎗️
Wishing everyone a blessed Easter weekend!! May you enjoy breaking bread and spending time with friends and family. God bless! 🙏🏻💛🎗️💪🏻
