Today Dr. Thaw informed me that all of yesterday's tests came back clear. The ultrasound was unable to detect any cancer in the breast or in the lymphnode, and the MRI was unable to detect any cancer in the liver. I can now say that I've had a "complete response" or the disappearance of all signs of cancer in response to treatment.
As I mentioned before, this does not mean that I'm cured, and I will need to continue on treatments for life or until they come up with a cure. The current plan is for me to continue with the Herceptin infusion every 3 weeks to suppress the Her2 protein. I will continue this until it stops working, or the cancer outsmarts it, at which point we will throw something else at it.
Moving forward, no news is good news and hopefully I won't have any caringbridge updates for many years!
