I’m amazed how quickly time passes, and that she is a senior in high school! I well remember those early days and all the fear. I’m SO happy to know that things mostly look good for her as of now. At the time I was able to meet you with compassion, but now I meet you with a different kind of understanding. One of my granddaughters has neurofibromatosis, NF1. It’s a terrible genetic mutation that produces tumors all through her nervous system, and elevated risks of all cancers, which will be much more aggressive. She has two brain tumors, one on each optic nerve. Don’t do a Google image search. Every day, just living with the uncertainty of the future is a hard thing to learn. It’s always true for all of us of course, but when a child you love faces so much risk, it’s the hardest thing to learn.
I will continue to think about her and you guys, and hope for all the very best. ♥️
