Update on Melissa's Health Journey - Awaiting Stem Cell Transplant
Dear Family and Friends,
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to update you on Melissa's health journey.
Melissa had a follow-up appointment on April 22nd and 23rd,where she met with her healthcare providers to discuss her ongoing battle with Myelofibrosis (MF). Despite the challenges she has faced, including severe fatigue, bone pain, night sweats, and other symptoms, Melissa remains optimistic.
The recent evaluation has led to the consideration of an allogenic stem cell transplant, a potentially life-saving procedure. However, the decision to proceed with the transplant has been delayed due to the 30% chance of not surviving the procedure. This is a difficult time for Melissa and our family as we grapple with the risks involved, especially when compared to her current prognosis of 80 months.
While we are grateful for the additional time we have been able to spend together, this waiting period has also brought about a sense of disappointment and uncertainty. Melissa remains determined and hopeful, taking each day as it comes and cherishing the moments with family and friends. Most of all having faith, and being grateful for each day.
We appreciate your continued support, prayers, and understanding during this challenging time. Please keep Melissa in your thoughts as we navigate the next steps in her treatment plan.
With heartfelt thanks,
🫶🏼 Ramsey Family
