Journal

This week, I had my quarterly CT Scan and met with Dr. Sun back in Kansas City.

The CT highlights included:

😎 No thoracic metastatic disease.

😃 The tumor hasn't grown.

😃 No change in areas of irregular peritoneal thickening.

😐 Small increase in trace ascites.

😎 No enlarged lymph nodes in my abdominal cavity.

Dr. Sun walked me through the results and then we talked about medication, my current aches and ailments, and my blood work.

For my meds, he has chosen to modify them as follows:

  • put me back on my Lynparza at full dose (chemo drug)
  • keep me on my Protonix (acid control)
  • take me off off my Spironolactone (water pill)
  • temporarily keep me off of my Eliquis (blood thinner)

For my aches and ailments, he suggests:

  • for my upper GI bleed - get an endoscopy.
    • this one is not yet scheduled, but it is why I'm off my Eliquis
  • for my phlebitis - get an ultrasound of the veins in my elbow.
    • this is scheduled for Tuesday
  • for my infected big toe - continue to soak it in Epsom salts and use antibiotic ointment
    • My left toe cleared up, but my right toe is as bad as ever.  I'll give this regimen awhile longer, but eventually I may need to go see a podiatrist

My bloodwork was very disappointing, but not unexpected since my hospital stay.  My pre-indicators of Resting Heart Rate and Blood Pressure are both doing better at 79 beats/min and 112/72 respectively.  If I can get the source of my upper GI bleed figured out, perhaps my blood counts will rise and I'll restabilize.

Until that happens, stay strong, stay positive.
