Got an update from Jim today. Ernie is doing great. Nurses have him walking the hallways now. He's apparently been asking directions to the all-you-can-eat buffet. His plumbing may be changed but, thankfully, his wiring is exactly the same!

Hi Everyone, just off a phone call with Ernie. It was great to hear his voice but talking was difficult as it makes him cough which hurts. He shared with me that theyve removed all three chest tubes (which was horrible for him ...) and theyve already had him up and walking a couple times. He's apparently allergic to meds in the opiate family so despite pain, he can only take liquid Motrin. It probably doesnt help much. He mentioned that projected discharge is Tuesday or Wednesday. He's doing great but still very fragile. Keep praying for a complete and speedy recovery!

I first want to apologize for not posting last night again but I fell asleep after a long trying week. I was able to go in and visit another time at about 11:00pm dad had his breathing tube removed and was brought out of his anastesia. He was his old self glad he had maintained memories and saw pictures of himself and felt he looked good (as do I he looks wonderful) he was definitely tired but positive. I am headed in to visit again today at about 11 and then headed home to NC. I will make one final update as to what I personally observe but any updates from then on out will be from things I have or will be informed of. If any of you have any updates as well please keep me posted! Love to you all and will post again this afternoon
