Today we saw the neurosurgeon for a 6 week follow up. He states that today’s x-rays look good and is recommending the collar come off (finally!) For the next several weeks David will need to note any worsening pain or tingling but if that doesn’t happen then he can start to get back to “normal” activity. If there is any worse pain we will go back and discuss surgery but for now we are cautiously optimistic that this will be the start of life without the collar.
We just returned from a short trip to the Carolina’s and here is a pic of David hiking part of the Appalachian Trail. No small feat less than 6 months post accident. His strength and determination to push himself have paid off in big ways.
