Welcome to Dave’s CaringBridge Site
Sign In to Show Your SupportIt has been 6 weeks since we got the news that the lymphoma spread to my dad's brain. Yesterday was his first MRI since starting the high dose chemo infusions, and his first MRI without any anesthesia, GO DAD!! Based on the results we see in his patient portal, "Marked decrease in the size of the previously seen enhancing tumor ", the chemo is working! We will know for sure on Friday after he sees the doctor if our interpretation of the results is accurate.
I, Solveig, have been here visiting Mom and Dad for the last couple days. Being in Rochester has been humbling to say the least. People from all parts of the world come here for treatment at the Mayo clinic; age, religion, politics, doesn't matter, everyone just wants to be healthy. My parents have made many connections and new friends at the hotel they are living in, it is so nice to witness the community they are a part of.
A lot of you have asked how my mom is doing, to which I normally respond that she is doing what she does, caretaking and staying positive! When your unconditional love is as deep rooted as hers, you do what you can to make sure your loved ones are taken care of. She remains hopeful with an admirable amount of patience.
The calls, texts, prayers, continue to brighten Dad's days, thank you all for your kindness. I will leave you with my dad's favorite hymn sung by Freya, daughter of my cousin Ty and Annemarie Throntveit. https://www.facebook.com/792405098/videos/185827654162524/
