Colin has been back in remission for over a year on dasatinib mono therapy and really enjoying being a kid!!
He still sees Dr. Lee every other month to check his blood work and we just got back from CHOP after a lung and endocrine visit. Colin had a broncoscopy in Jan to rule out lung infections. At his appointment this week, looks like he has asthma. Whether it’s regular asthma or related to transplant/ chemo, it’s hard to say but we increased his inhalers and will go back before school starts to keep an eye on things as his overall numbers aren’t completely normal.
At the endocrine appointment, we discussed his growth as it has slowed down quite a bit on dasatinib. So discussing whether to do growth hormone while on dasatinib or just take him off next year or some combination. More conversations to come (and of course more testing).
Otherwise, Colin has just been busy with kid stuff. He signed with the UVA tennis team through Team Impact, we went to Disney again for spring break and Colin’s team won their first soccer match!!!
Plus, Colin has his moving up ceremony for middle school at the beginning of June!!!
We feel very blessed and lucky.
