Journal
Mother has had 3 great days in a row. She has exercised and been awake and alert. We constantly ask her questions about things to help the connections in her brain continue to fire. What day is it?, What is your address?, What is your phone number?, Who am I?, In which city do you live?, What was our old phone number?, What was our old address?, etc. Questions like these make her think and help keep her brain sharp. It also makes her tired so we only incorporate it into something that is already happening so it doesn't seem like work. Sometimes she can answer and sometimes it's too difficult to get the words out, which is frustrating. She knows the answer, she just can't get her mouth to say it.
We are currently working on strengthening mother's core. We have her stand in front of a full length mirror so she can see her shoulders and head and we place our hands on her stomach and back to push her into the correct position. By doing this, it's strengthening in the right places. This way, she will be able to stand without assistance and feel stronger and more confident. We are up to 6 minutes and each day she should be able to stand even longer.
It isn't often that we have so many good consecutive days, so I wanted to document it and let you know that she is clearer than she has been in a long time. It really does our hearts good to see.
Love,
Mother's Warriors
