Hello!

I am 2 weeks out from surgery.  I am finally feeling better.  I had a follow up with the surgeon yesterday.  My output from the 2 drains was too high to remove (which I figured going in) so my little grenade buddies are still with me 🤨 for a little while longer.  Can you see the face I am making? Lol.  The pathology report came back as expected.  The chemo shrunk the tumor to a mushy 4 cm (originally 11cm) with all margins clear...meaning they removed the cancer.  Also they decided to remove the remaining lymph nodes.  Glad they did as 2 of the 7 nodes were also positive... not shocking news either.  So all in all progressing the the right direction.  I feel stiff and sore, but I am able to get up and move around and have been cleared to 🚗 drive.  Big thanks to mom, Aunt Val, Adam, Donna, and Jorge for babysitting me!

What's torture is next....

Radiation and more chemo.  I am not excited about 6 more months of chemo...but like any of this, it's out of my control.  I just have to keep telling myself this is temporary, one day at a time, stay positive, and it is saving my life.  I met with Dr. Nisi the radiation doctor today to discuss how many burn sessions I get to get... 5 weeks... every day for a total of 25 of them.  Uff da.  This will "clean up" any cells left behind.  They want me to recover from surgery before we start that, and the chemo pills... so July 15th I start that chapter.  I do have to keep going with the keytruda also and have 9 down, 9 to go.  I am going to enjoy this short break of not feeling like crap all the time.  It is my favorite time of the year and the gardens are beautiful.  Adam, Donna, and Jorge helped me plant the Hosta I ordered in Feb that came.  I still have more coming🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️.  At least I am predictable in that.  I am supposed to get up and walk around 3 times a day so I walk around the yard if it's nice. The hosta love all the rain we have gotten.  I don't hate shampoo bottles anymore because the fuzz on my head is looking less patchy!  I am over shaving the legs already though hahaha.  The hair looks pretty dark.  Another slow process I wish I could speed up!  Ah well.  I am not sure if I will loose it again on this next chemo or not.  I start physical therapy tomorrow.  It's dance rehearsal and recital this weekend...I love watching the shows, but it gets to be a long.  I hope I have the endurance to keep on keepin on!

Much love,

Ang
