November 2023 left us with an early Christmas gift that we did not ask for and no gift receipt was given.  A reoccurrence of my traveler and 15 days of needed radiation.  The location of the radiation was the same spot as my prior treatments.  The treatments caused a large amount of deficiencies with both my mobility and vision.  I am currently relearning to walk and climb stairs and am often using a wheelchair.   On Monday, I had new scans and met with my oncologist.  The scans showed that my current treatments are working as designed.  The large amount of swelling caused by radiation has subsided greatly and no additional progression was reported.  This is thanks to a trial drug I began four months ago and continued Avastin treatment.  Dr Neil, my oncologist, enthusiastically opened the door before bounding in with the good news.  This was a great relief and was precisely the news Stacy and I hoped to hear, if not better.  I  am currently mentally healthier than I have been in a long time.  This is greatly due to Stacy and the vitality visits from friends and loved ones.  My next goal is to gain back my mobility to where it was prior to treatment and make it back upstairs to our bedroom.  Despite the setbacks I am still getting out.  Still enjoying life and as always our best is yet to come.  Next week, I will have my 5th Avastin treatment and am on my 5th cycle of ONC201.  We are always excited to have visitors and look forward to the upcoming vitality visits.  Feel free to come share a meal or provide us with your company.  Please keep the positive and healing vibes coming our way.
