April 2019:

As a lot of you know Xanman was diagnosed with a different type of cancer than last time called: undifferentiated pleomorphic sarcoma. About a month ago, Xanders mama, Lexie, happened to be rubbing his shoulder for him while they were watching a movie together when she noticed a lump in his lower shoulder area. They of course got him checked out right away.

After lots of tests this week this is what we know:

*The CT Scan of his chest came back crystal clear! 🙌🏼
*The Pet Scan came back indicating it has NOT spread anywhere else in his body! 🙌🏼
*Surgery is necessary to remove the tumor. The goal is to remove the cancer and a margin of healthy tissue surrounding it with as minimal impact as possible.

Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Xander Cross. We have had many requests/inquiries in regards to updates with his treatment and are using this site to keep family and friends updated.

As most of you know Xander was diagnosed with ARMS (Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma) a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in muscle tissue.  In early October Xander had a lump on his left eyelid  removed that his parents  noticed had formed not to long prior. The growth was sent to the mayo clinic and was determined to be cancerous. Immediately, Xander underwent many tests including bone marrow testing, blood tests, port placement in his chest and MRI and CAT scans. The good news: The cancer had NOT spread elsewhere! Praise the Lord!

Xander's parents caught this very early and have a good prognoses. Regardless it has been a long road thus far and will continue to be throughout the remaining chemo treatments.  His treatment plan includes 42 chemotherapy weeks(Every Wednesday) and some weeks overnight stays that began mid October. He went through radiation every day in November which was a rough month for him but our strong little fighter handled it so well.

No 7 year old should have to go through this but we all know that this will be over soon. We have faith that God has placed his healthy touch on Xanman and know that he will be back on the road to his healthy, happy, energy filled self.  Xander has amazed us all with his strong will and upbeat attitude, not that we expected any thing different out of this amazing little man.

Lexie, Chris and Xander will appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Feel free to leave them messages to inspire Xander along this tough journey.  Thank you for visiting.
