OUR STORY... It all started with a Clemson Football Game...

So Derrik and I have been coming to Clemson games together since 2010. We always park at a small church on the hill near the railroad overpass on Hwy 93. The sweet family/pastor has always saved us a spot (even when Lot is FULL) every year and recognize us.

On Saturday November 24th, the daughter was selling parking passes for the lot and requesting donations for her dad... who we learned is getting a kidney transplant at MUSC on Dec 26th from a living donor... The family is traveling to Charleston on Christmas Day. They were collecting donations to save up for a hotel/food/gas for their 2 to 3 week stay.

Now, Derrik and I have never talked to this family outside of "Go Tigers"... but that night we sparked conversation and opened our home to them for Christmas for as long as they need it. The family started crying/stammering saying “No... Thank you. Appreciate it. Don’t want to be a burden “.  But a few weeks later.... they are accepting our helping hand and staying with us while they attend pre-op appointments.

God works in mysterious ways... It was Derrik and I’s first (and only) game we’d been able to make it to this season.... Every parking lot in Clemson was packed (Huge USC vs Clemson state rivalry game). We were the last car to pull in to get the LAST spot in the lot (they waved away car behind us).

My family was definitely sent to THEM.... feeling blessed to be able to help them this Christmas.

Please WELCOME them to Carolina Bay and Charleston with open arms. Hoping to give them a little sunshine amidst this challenging time.
