I’m not really sure how to start this. I never imagined the past week would have happened. You hear it happens, but you never think it could happen to your child. For a couple of months Will has been losing weight. He was trying to, so no one thought much of it. Recently, we noticed his abdomen protruding. We took him to the doctor Thursday 11/29 and afterward- a CT scan confirmed a large mass in his abdomen. We immediately went to Lutheran General Hospital. On Friday 11/30, Will had a biopsy done. It confirmed our most horrific fear. Cancer. We have set out a plan in place which includes getting chemo and radiation. All we ask for is prayers for Will. This wonderful 14 year old has a lot more life to live. He’s a fighter- this tumor has no idea what’s it is in for. We are also asking for privacy- I am not one to enjoy gossip and hearsay. That’s why we wanted to tell people directly. We will share information when our family is ready to. We ask for your understanding and prayers.
