Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
I will try to keep this updated as often ans as timely as I can.  I'm still figuring out this site, too, so be patient.

Wendy has stage 4 squamous cell carcinoma in her tonsil and both lymph nodes in her neck.  Thankfully it hasn't spread beyond that.
She got a feeding tube inserted on 08/29/16, so she won't need meals made for her for awhile.
She will start chemotherapy on Friday, September 2nd.  She'll be on chemo for one week, and then have two weeks off; that will be repeated for three or four sessions, so 9-12 weeks.  She will carry around a small box that will deliver the medicine at intervals. The doctor says that she'll feel pretty crummy for the weeks she's on chemo.
After chemo, she will start radiation.  They wanted to start chemo first to try to shrink the tumors so radiation will be more precise instead of blasting such a large area on her neck.
That's it for today.  I'll update after she starts chemo Friday.       - Lora
