Katie is our daughter. Katie is evey parent's dream for a daughter: sweet, gentle, full of energy and life, God-fearing, respectful, cooperative, and most of all loving! She has played and danced as Clara in the Nutcracker, acted as Tinker Bell in Into The Woods, and performs her best as the youngest daughter of five.
About a year ago, she had a change in personality due to what we thought was youthful maturing. Faint as the symptoms were at the time, they grew increasingly worse until at such point the correct diagnosis was found: medulloblastoma, a malignant form of brain cancer. Our needs have been great and our God has provided. We have miraculously received a place to stay and money for food. But I also am now going to be a primary care provider and will be unable to work. Therefore my income is decreased and our needs remain in the hands of our God and our faithful benefactors.

Today was my graduation from college but my daughter comes first. I already have the paper. What I need today is my sweet "Kata" to feel and know my love for her goes before work, before school, and before my other self-priorities. She has made tremendous strides over the last few days: eating, drinking, sitting up, and standing on her own. And... she finally got her fave: pancakes.
