Allison Moss WeareALLin for Ally Kat

First post: May 29, 2016
Meet Ally Kat, she is a 4th grade student at Groesbeck ISD. Just a couple of weeks after her 10th birthday, she was diagnosed with Cancer. She was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia , a blood cancer produced by her bone marrow, October 23, 2015. She has been in remission since November 23rd, however because Leukemia cells can hide and disguise themselves and lay dormant for later, her total treatment time to receive chemotherapy is 2.5 years. She has completed  4 rounds of chemo and just started the second half of her 4th and one of the most harshest round. During her 2.5 year treatment, she will require weekly, sometimes even daily, blood draws, chemotherapy by IV and/or pills, steroid treatments, she had surgery to implant a  port for the chemo in her chest, spinal taps and blood and platelet transfusions at Cook's Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, which is about 2 hours from her home in Groesbeck, Texas. She has even had extended stays already at the Ronald McDonald House in Fort Worth. She is current staying there again during the remainder of this round which will be around 30 days, to be close to the hospital in case immediate medical care is needed by her team of Doctors at Cook's.

But Ally is one tough cookie, she is a fighter and laughs in the face of cancer, all while wearing a smile in her face. She luckily made it through 7 months of turquoise hair before it finally started falling out heavily. As of May 26,2016, and she decided to shave the little she had left and rock the bald! Now she laughs in the face of cancer with a smile AND a big bow on her head! Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers, she and her family know that if it wasn't for the prayers and thoughts, she may not have cruising through treatment with little complications! God has been with us during her entire journey!
