We created this page to keep everybody in the loop on how dad is doing. He has so many people that love him and we figured there should just be a place that everybody can check on his progress and share well wishes. We appreciate all the calls, texts, thoughts and most importantly prayers.
As you all know mom and dad spend January, February and March in Florida. Things were going great. This past Saturday, early in the morning, mom took dad to the emergency room with shortness of breath and severe pain. After a rough emergency room visit, dad was transported upstairs to the ICU. He was diagnosed with a severe case of pneumonia. Dad's lungs aren't like everyone else's. It could take him 4x longer than a healthy person to heal. He is also more susceptible to getting pneumonia due to high risk of aspiration. Right now he is on a Bipap machine, lots of antibiotics, breathing treatments and percussion therapy.
Dad's spirit is strong, he is joking around some and he is a fighter. We all have hope that he will walk out of the hospital and enjoy the rest of the winter in Florida.
A few specifics to pray for: rest for dad, comfort and peace for mom and for all of us to keep our focus and hope in Jesus the ultimate healer.
