Dear friends, family, and loved ones,

Welcome to our CaringBridge website for Tricia Link. We will be posting frequent journal entries to this site to keep you updated on Tricia's progress, and we welcome your comments of support and will read them to her.

For those of you who may not know, Tricia has been very quietly and courageously battling and managing multiple serious medical conditions for nearly 3 decades now, including several near-fatal "incidents" (as she low-keyingly likes to refer to them) stemming from a genetic blood clotting disorder in addition to many other complex and painful chronic medical conditions, most recently a fight with breast cancer, including a lumpectomy and hysterectomy last year.

Due to the recent detection of what is currently believed to be newly formed, recurring early stage carcinoma/cancer cell sites and high risk markers, Tricia will be undergoing a two-part double mastectomy and phased reconstruction on Tuesday, May 22nd at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau, WI.  The surgery is expected to last ~7 hours,  if nothing more is discovered and no complications arise. She will then be undergoing a 3 month phased recovery process in her hometown of Wis. Rapids, WI, followed by a second surgery in late August or early September.

For added inspiration, we wanted to share Tricia's favorite inspirational quote with you:   "Be the change you want to see in the world." (Gandhi).   And now, she has asked us to help her spread the word in support of others in the fight for breast cancer awareness, research, and patient care and support, and to remind everyone to make sure to get their yearly mammograms and ask for the newer 3-D version, along with doing monthly self-breast checks (see youTube for how-to videos), as early detection is VITAL to saving lives!

Tricia sends her love and prayers to all, and we invite your positive thoughts and prayers to support Tricia in her latest medical journey, We greatly appreciate your prayers and words of hope and encouragement for our special loved one. Thank you for visiting our site, and our blessings to all!

Love, Mary (sister) & Doug (brother) & the Link family (Fritz, Agie, Lori, & Sharon)
