Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.  
Tom passed on from this life on August 17th.  We are of course sad that he is no longer with us here, but we are greatly comforted that he is now in heaven with God and has a new type of perfect body with no flaws.  

My father Tom had brain cancer (glioblastoma stage 4).  After June of 2016 there was no further treatment that Tom was strong enough to take, or that had any potential other than possibly slowing down the process but would also have side effects.  We wanted him to be comfortable and be able to enjoy his last days here on earth.  It was especially important that he could spend as much time as possible with my mother Linda.  It was my father's wish to be at home with Linda, so Tom received hospice care in their house.
You can read through the Journal updates for more detailed information.  The entry for June and about hospice care has the most details about my father's condition. 

Tom and Linda very much appreciate all of the ways that they have been getting support!
Talking on the phone, preparing a meal, coming over to visit, including them in your prayers - these are just a few ways that friends and family have been helping over the months.  
We are very thankful to have great hospice care that is covered by insurance.  Additionally, we feel very blessed that Tom has received disability pay which goes to pay for the 24 hour in home care. 
Despite this all, there were some additional medical fees and the 24 hour care that added up to a big sum over the months.  So we  made a personal fundraising site on the "Ways to Help" page for Tom, if this is a way that you would like to offer your help.
