Life took an unexpected turn for Theresa and Gerry this summer. After spending a couple of months seeking answers for some recurring abdominal discomfort, Theresa learned that she had a lesion on her pancreas. She had surgery on July 15, and learned shortly afterward that it was cancerous. The silver lining is that while most pancreatic cancer is discovered late, Theresa's was caught early, Stage 1. The surgery to remove the tumor was successful and she had clear margins and lymph nodes.  Even so, there's a journey ahead as the doctors are recommending six months of chemo.
