I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in June. I had a single mastectomy on Aug 12, 2021. During follow up appt. pathology indicated that the surgery was a success. He got all the cancer and there are no signs of it in the lymp nodes. But, between diagnosis and surgery the tumor had grown, significantly. The surgeon was surprised. Normally, having a mastectomy is all that would be required, its size has changed everything. He referred me to an oncologist. I seen her last Friday, Aug 27. We were told that it was a highly aggressive type of cancer. We were also told that there should have been more tests ordered after surgery. (I am going tomorrow to have the labs done) She laid out a plan for chemo. After I heal for another 2 to 4 weeks, I will start round 1 of treatment. Round 1 consists of 1 dose every other week for 8 weeks. Then round 2 will consist of 1 dose every week for 12 weeks. I'm considering getting a second opinion on tests, treatments, etc. I have a problem with the possibility of waiting and they've missed something again, especially with the words "highly aggressive" being said. I apologize to all those whom asked me to do that in the first place. I felt this was the best path to take. I'd like those of you who will, to please remember my girls, family and tribe, in your prayers. No one fights alone and these people are my heart.
