Nola is a sweet, precocious, and sometimes-stubborn two-year-old. Nola adores her twin sister, Poppy. She loves playing outside, singing (especially tunes from Annie), and stickers. Nola is smart and brave and strong. Nola also has cancer.
Nola was diagnosed with Sclerosing Epithelioid Fibrosarcoma (SEF) on May 23, exactly a month after an urgent care physician discovered a mysterious mass in her abdomen. SEF is a weird, scarcely-occuring form of cancer (describe it as "rare" at your own risk!), and pediatric cases are nearly unheard of. Nola has undergone two surgeries to remove cancerous tumors, one in her abdomen and the other in her lung.
Nola is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment which requires frequent hospital stays. She will soon begin radiation.
Nola's family is humbled and grateful for all of the love and support their friends and family have shown. We will use this page to relay information and updates on Nola's progress. We will also post requests for meals and other help as the needs arise. Thank you for checking in on sweet Nola!
