Lucas woke on on December 16, 2016 at 4:30 in morning with a debilitating headache.  When no pain meds woudl work and he started having behavioral changes, we took him to the ER at SSM  Audrain.  They quickly assessed him and ordered a CT scan, where they determined that he had a brain mass and a brain bleed.  He was sent to University Hospital in Columbia. After many tests, it was determined that the mass was a tumor and a brain bleed.  He had surgery at Women's and Children's  Hospital in Columbia on December 20, to resect the tumor.  The tumor was sent off to determine it's pathology.  He was discharged from the hospital on December 22, 2016, Lucas had a neuro followup on Jan 4th, where we were told his tumor was anaplastic oligodendroglioma.  There were still waiting on one final test to confirm.  That final result were given to us on January 20, 2017.  His diagnosis is now anapplastic astrocytoma.
