It all started around January 2019.

Our little man began constantly throwing up, very irritable, eventually losing his appetite completely.

In February, when we went in for Jr and Janelys vaccines, i brought it to the doctors attention, so he was also given a medicine to increase his appetite. It started to help some.

About a week later, we had to get bloodwork for both him and his sister. While Janelys hemoglobin was fine, Jr’s was low, therefore, they did it again, but with a Complete Blood Count. Thinking it was iron-deficiency anemia, he was prescribed Iron supplements.

For the next day or two, I couldn’t fall asleep. Something in my heart was telling me, this wasn’t right. Thank God for that.

I took him in for more bloodwork to his pediatrician , because I didn’t feel comfortable and he started getting worse again. When his doctor saw his bloodwork, it got worse within a day or two, so their pediatrician informed me that he is to be taken to the hospital as soon as possible.

At Nicklaus Children’s (Miami Children’s) they did bloodwork. The oncologist stepped in but said he was clear, so to come back for follow ups.

Fast forward to our second follow up, on June 17th, 2019. Doctor comes back in after doing a CBC, and levels came back worse then the initial time. The hematologist/oncologist was very worried, therefore, he admitted him right away to get a bone marrow biopsy and aspiration done as soon as possible.

And this is where this journey began...
