Beverly Johnson Taking Care of Beverly

First post: Apr 30, 2020 Latest post: May 15, 2020

We created this page to help keep Beverly's friends and family updated with news as we get it. We would love to connect with each of you but right now there is so much to do that we believe this is the best way to keep everyone updated.

Bev was diagnosed with COVID-19 yesterday, April 29, after emergent surgery and 3 weeks in a nursing home. She was taken to the ER via ambulance with significant breathing distress. She declined rapidly over the course of yesterday and was sedated, intubated and in ICU within hours of her arrival at the hospital.

Please do not call the hospital. Her nurse has requested that only one person calls because the staff is overwhelmed and they need to be caring for Beverly and others in dire straits. They have also promised the doctor will call Barbara daily.  We will post any updates from the doctor on this site as soon as we can. Please respect her care provider's needs and support them as they support Beverly.

The one thing we could use help with right now is finding a home for Beverly's beloved 14 yo sister cats, Allie and Spanky. We have an immediate plan for their care and well-being but we're exploring long term options. We know that Bev would want them to be able to stay together in a great home if she can’t care for them. If you are able to take them, please message Barbara or Tracy. If you can't take them in yourself, could you please help us spread the word?

Thanks for your love, concern and prayers for Bevy!

Love,
Barbara (sister) and Tracy (niece)
