On October 14, 2016, Suzette received the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 30. She wasted no time in coming up with a course of action, calling everyone she knows in the medical field, and refusing to take no for an answer. Her persistency paid off, and 10 days after being diagnosed she headed to Nashville to meet with a team of doctors at Vanderbilt Medical Center. That's what Suzette does. She's fought for us, for all women, the underprivileged - anything her friends and family have every needed - she's fought for and typically won, even in a seemingly lost cause. Suzette is one of the strongest people you will ever meet, and she is more than ready to kick cancer to the curb!
Suzette's Course of Action: Fertility treatments to harvest her eggs - because obviously we need more Suzettes in this world! Double Mastectomy - scheduled fro November 11 in Nashville After 4-6 weeks of recovery, she will begin chemo Once chemo is finished, she will recover for another 6 weeks before her reconstructive surgery
How you can help: Send prayers, love, and good vibes her way. Text her words of encouragement, funny jokes, pictures of your dog, cats, children, etc. Help keep a smile on her face! Bracelets and t-shirts will also be available to purchase to help offset costs. You can also donate through this site. (It took a lot of convincing to get Suzette to agree to this. She only knows giving, not taking, but we finally wore her down.)
