In May of 2016, Susan was diagnosed with Metastatic Cancer of the Breast, Lungs and Bone, with all Lymph Nodes affected. Because of the nature of the metastatic process, Susan opted to fight for her quality of life versus quantity, and opted to refuse treatment. In August Susan started receiving care from the angels of the Pikes Peak Hospice team. They have walked along side her giving supportive care, allowing her to remain independent and high functioning. In December, Art had a mass removed from his leg which initially seemed benign to all his Physicians, but testing revealed that the mass was a type of Lymphoma. Art is in the early stages of testing, staging and learning of his treatment options.
