Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to help keep family and friends updated without relying on phone calls and texts.

As most of you know, Steve was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis back in January of this year. There have been lots of ups and lots of downs and we could not have gotten through any of this without the support and prayers from our family and friends. On March 23, 2016, this crazy roller coaster ride began. By the grace of God Steve was able to come home May 17th, just in time for a birthday/welcome home party the following weekend. Thank you to each and everyone of you who were able to make it by to see him that day. It really meant a lot to him. Things were going well, he was going to therapy during the week and he was even able to turn his oxygen off here and there without having any issues. On June 14th, he was having a hard time catching his breath and was not feeling very well. We took him to the ER and he was admitted back into ICU for some testing and observations. He was put on some heavy duty antibiotics and steroids to fight off any type of infection that could be developing. After days or testing, blood work, etc. It was discovered that Steve was going to need a double lung transplant. Well, so we thought.... During the latest heart scan, they discovered that there is blockage in 3 arteries near his heart. Tomorrow, he will be having some stents put in. The transplant is not completely off the table, but has been put off for now. They have found a combination of medicines that are helping his oxygen levels stay stable. After the stent operation tomorrow, he should be able to come home towards the end of this week.

Feel free to leave any comments, words of encouragement or photos and I will be sure that Steve and Gayla see each and every one of them.
