Hi all. Welcome to Stephanie's Caring Bridge site. As many of you know, Steph's health journey started in 1996 with her first round of breast cancer. That was followed in 2004 with another round of breast cancer. Although both very difficult, Steph plowed through, flourished, and maintained a very healthy , busy life. Recently though, some new challenges have occurred. She was diagnosed with therapy-induced Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS). She is currently (10/28/18) in the hospital with what started as double pneumonia and now has evolved to a plural effusion that is causing pressure in her chest cavity, pressing on her left lung and causing her great pain, difficulty breathing and a few other challenges.
