In the late spring of 2016 I was diagnosed with Head and Neck cancer, specifically squamous cell carcinoma on my tongue. I underwent 7 weeks of daily radiation with a couple of rounds of chemo, and a feeding tube for about 3 months. We plowed through and in November 2016, after a PetScan, I was declared cancer free. Since then I have been monitored and tested extensively by a team of Doctors. Unfortunately, the cancer is back. What I thought was a minor sports injury turns out to be a recurrence of the same type of cancer now on my ribs (3). It also has shown up on my liver. Ironically, the two PetScans (cancer free to recurrence) were to the day one year apart. So now I venture back into the world of treatment and recovery. Friends, family, and co-workers have been very supportive and encouraging. I thought I would use this site somewhat therapeutically for myself and to provide a means to be a single location to update those who care to follow my journey.

In our family, this is the fourth cancer in less than 18 months. First my initial Head & Neck, then my wife had to battle through Breast cancer, then our dog, now me again with the dreaded metastatic cancer. We're all still here and kicking, and plan to keep it that way.
