STRENGTH FOR SOPHIE
Sophie was admitted to Children's Hospital Of Atlanta on Friday November 18, 2016 after falling ill at Honor Band on Wednesday November 15. Her symptoms were generic to a stomach bug, but she became incoherent. Her CT scan revealed blood on the brain, and after the MRI was diagnosed with an AVM, very rare affecting 1% of the population, unpredictable and unpreventable but thankfully curable. Sophie was at Scottish Rite for two days and was transferred to Egleston to undergo brain surgery Wednesday, November 23 which was a big success. However two days after the surgery she suffered some sort of stroke, which debilitated her entire right side and her short term memory. She can't remember anything since the band event Nov. 15, and has trouble making new memories. She has been strong mentally and phsyically and has kept a positive attitude throughout her journey. We could not be more proud of her.
We are thankful for all of our wonderful family and friends that have given and continue to give us so much love and support.
Love the Galiano, Bell, Pettigrew, Casson and Sneep families.
Please forward to anyone that might be interested.
