Scroll down for background.
Sophie was admitted to CHOA on Friday November 18 after falling ill at Honor Band. Her symptoms were generic to a stomach bug, but she became incoherent. Her CT scan revealed blood on the brain, and after the MRI was diagnosed with an AVM, very rare affecting 1% of the population, unpredictable and unpreventable but thankfully curable. Sophie was at Scottish Rite for two days and was transferred to Egleston to undergo brain surgery Wednesday, which was a big success.
She can't remember anything since the band event, and can't make new memories but does remember everything before Nov 15. She has been strong all through this and all the nurses love her because she is polite.
We are thankful for all of our wonderful family and friends that have given us so much love and support.
Love the Galiano, Bell, Pettigrew, Casson and Sneep families.
Please forward to anyone that might be interested.
