After not feeling well for a while, Mom went to the doctor for a follow up and they ran some tests- one of the blood tests showed very elevated liver enzymes. That result prompted scans of the liver, kidneys and pancreas. On December 1, multiple tumors were found in her liver which prompted more scans of her chest, abdomen and pelvis. December 2, those scans returned a tumor in her lung. After appointments with the pulmonologist, a liver biopsy and meeting with the oncologist, Mom has been diagnosed with Stage 4 small cell carcinoma of the lung metastatic to the liver and adrenal glands. As Snippy's daughter I will likely be the one updating and writing the journal entries. If you have any questions please feel free to comment on the journal entries and I will reply as I am able to.
